*Considering the Move to Leadership-for Aspiring Leaders

All too often, we thrust our valued individual contributors into one of the most difficult of all roles-leading others, without providing proper context for the challenges and rewards of leading.  The results for everyone involved can be disastrous.  This program and the supporting developmental assignments challenge the individual to investigate the role of the leader and the critical differences in skills and work required to lead effectively versus that of the individual contributor.  Ideal for anyone considering the move to a formal leadership role. E-mail Art for More Information!

*Succeeding as a First-Time Leader

This highly interactive program is ideal for any organization or team seeking to improve the effectiveness of first-time leaders.  The program content is based on the 2007 book, Practical Lessons in Leadership-A Guidebook for Aspiring and Experienced Leaders by Art Petty and Rich Petro.  Participants develop a clear understanding of the true role of a leader, gain insights into and solutions for common early-leader pitfalls and develop their skills for delivering feedback, and effectively leading and managing others. E-mail Art for More Information!

*Succeeding at Leading as a Project Manager

The role of Project Manager is quickly gaining influence as a critical position for executing on key organizational initiatives.  While Project Managers are well-educated in best-practices processes for developing and managing the technical issues of a project, studies indicate that over 80% of the challenges surrounding successful project execution are people issues.

This highly interactive program leverages Petty’s experience teaching Project Management at the MBA level as well as teaching informal leaders the approaches and techniques of success. Content is highly tailored to the world, issues and language of the Project Manager.  E-mail Art for More Information!

*Succeeding at Leading as a Product Manager

Product Managers shoulder a remarkable amount of responsibility for organizational success, often playing a critical role in shaping and executing market and competitive strategies.  Part of the challenge of the Product Manager is to establish a high degree of personal credibility and foster productive relationships across functions and silos in organizations.  Mastering the art of informal leadership is essential for success as a Product Manager.

This highly interactive program is based on Petty’s over twenty years either serving as or leading Product Managers in a variety of technology and manufacturing organizations.  Petty marries his practical leadership approaches to the unique situation and challenges of the Product Manager.  Participants leave prepared to better leverage and manage their informal leadership influence for results. E-mail Art for More Information!

Participants learn to properly plan and deliver feedback discussions and to deal with the most challenging feedback scenarios.  Ideal for new leaders, the program is also adaptable for senior managers seeking to improve performance and strengthen the performance culture of their teams and organizations. E-mail Art for More Information!
